Salem's school held a fun ice-cream social to get all the kids and families introduced. It's fun to see Salem making new friends.
Sutton of course had to have her turn on the tire swing as well.
Each of the classrooms in Salem's school has a few pets to care for. Salem's room has this large guinea pig named Sonny, a salamander, and a fish tank with 7-8 fish. The other classroom has a rabbit, sugar gliders (that the teacher carries in a belt pouch all day), and birds. The third classroom has kids with significant allergies so they don't have any pets for the year. There are also two wonderfully mellow dogs who roam the halls and the playgrounds.
5 Things We're Thankful For Today:
1. That Salem did so well during her first week of preschool.
2. Delicious fresh produce from our organic farm CSA. This week we received green beans, squash, zucchini, corn, onions, eggplant, beets, and cucumbers.
3. Salem's contribution to this week's list: Sutton.
4. That Salem and Sutton slept in until 8:00 and 8:30 am respectively this morning.
5. Long weekends. We have all sorts of fun things planned.
Wise (or mostly silly) Words From a 2 Year Old
Salem's response when Maggie asked her what she wants to dress up as for Halloween this year: "Mommy, I want to be a doctor like you!" Soooo cute! Salem has recently learned what Maggie does for work; she doesn't seem to understand what Drue does yet. We'll see if she changes her mind before Halloween.
"Mommy....you and Papa are my best friends!" Salem's earning all the brownie points this month!
I too love her little dress! She always looks so cute!
